What I do
Through coaching, I help women tackle the everyday life challenges that can often seem so overwhelming. Unlike counseling, coaching is based on the belief that it is the client who has the answers to their challenges, not the coach. Coaching also focuses on the present and future, rather than dwelling on the unchangeable past. Keeping true to these theories of coaching, I co-create an individual plan with each client based on their strengths, personality, lifestyle and personal goals. From there, we work together to change perspective, increase options and strategize realistic ways to achieve goals. Time with my clients is focused, efficient, solution oriented and forward-moving.
My Focus
I work with mothers, and teenage girls from ages fourteen to twenty. Though life challenges are different for every person, a few common reasons why a client may come to see me are:
Mothers
- Returning to work after maternity leave
- Balancing life as a mom and as an individual
- The difficult transition and changes that accompany being a new mother
- Body image:
- Not knowing how to identity with “new” body
- My body is not longer “mine”.
- I no longer see myself as a sexual being.
- New dynamic of relationship with spouse and/or friends
- Loss of personal identity
- Feelings of isolation
- Self doubt - Am I a good enough mother? Spouse? Woman?
- Time Management
Teens
- Self Confidence/Self-esteem
- Body Image:
- Rapidly changing body
- Comfort level with own body
- Body and sexuality
- Challenges with peers and/or family
- Feelings of being “lost” in life, not “fitting in”
- Transition from teen to “womanhood”
- Time Management
